In the past few years, many family groups have decided to choose to stay at the beautiful Universal Florida resorts. This post is all about Universal Studios Orlando travel packages, how they work and why you should consider making a reservation for your next visit.
This week on Magical Day Tips I will let you know that not everyone is a fan of pixie dust, and some love thrill rides and a different pace for their theme park visits. There may also be a family group that has already visited other parks several times and is now looking for a new option.
Whichever the case, this post is all about the information you need about a travel package for Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Universal Studios Travel Packages
A Universal Studios Resort Orlando travel package consists of:
- Stay at one of the (beautiful) Resort’s hotels
- Tickets to the parks: Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure and/or Volcano Bay;
- Transportation by land or water from the hotel to the parks and Universal City Walk
- Early access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- Tips, hacks and planning (if you buy a package through Magical Day Tips).
Whenever you buy a package, you look for the comfort of not having to worry about anything during your stay, and that is precisely the purpose of this type of combo. In the next few paragraphs, I will let you know some features of the resort so that you can take them into account while planning your trip.
Parks
Universal Studios Florida: It’s a movie in real life. You can walk through Springfield and drink Duff beer at Moe’s, stroll through Diagon Alley and find a huge dragon on the roof of Gringotts, enjoy a classic Transformers simulator, have fun with the Minions, and much more!
Islands of Adventure: superheroes, magical creatures, wizards, and even dinosaurs. In this park, you will find the two most thrilling attractions that opened in the past few years: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Jurassic World Velocicoaster. Here, the Hogwarts Express has a stop at Hogsmeade to let you visit the magnificent Hogwarts castle in all its glory. In addition, there is a Spider-Man simulator, an entire land dedicated to Dr. Seuss’ stories for the little ones, and many other attractions.
Volcano Bay: is a water park. All its lines are virtual to make your stay more relaxing. It has some quiet areas for you to chill, but you will also find thrill water rides that you will love.
Hotels and Categories
There are four hotel categories at this resort, and all of them can be a selection for a Universal Studios Orlando travel package: Value, Prime Value, Preferred, or Premier.
- Value: Endless Summer Resort- Surfside Inn & Suites / Endless Summer Resort- Dockside Inn & Suites.
- Prime Value: Aventura Hotel / Cabana Bay Beach Resort
- Preferred: Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
- Premier: Loews Royal Pacific Resort / Hard Rock Hotel / Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
Payment Methods
One of the best features of this type of package is that they have a very convenient advance payment plan that adjusts to your budget. When booking, you choose a hotel, a room that best suits your family group, the dates and length of your stay, and park tickets.
You can also choose Park-To-Park Tickets that include the Hogwarts Express and being able to change parks within the same day, or a base ticket (one park per day).
After deciding your stay and ticket type, you can make a reservation, and make payments however you choose up until 45 days before your travel date.
For example, You buy a package for October 1st 2023 worth $1,200. You decide to make a reservation and pay $200. The amount left is $1,000, which you can pay in as many installments/payments as you wish. Payments are not fixed on a date or amount, so you can plan depending on your budget.
Pro tip: you can add prepaid gift cards to your package, and thus you can pay in installments a specific amount that you think can cover your meals or expenses during your visit. Many people choose to do this to have one less thing to worry about during their trip.
