You have your reservations: your flight, your tickets, even the hotel. It’s time to pack everything for your visit, but what do you pack for Disney? Here is the ultimate list of everything you need to bring to Disney for a group of adults.
In order to cover all the items you need to pack for Disney, we’ll separate the list into three sections: clothes, tech and extra items.
You will have an idea about what to bring from home and what to send directly to the hotel in order to travel lighter.
What to Pack for Disney World
Clothes
Whether you go to Walt Disney World or Disneyland California, you will suffer from the heat. Therefore, these clothing recommendations work for both coasts. I will recommend items from top to bottom.
You will need a hat or cap for the sun. If you are anything like me and want to match the outfit with some pixie dust, you can opt for a themed one:
At some point, you will wear a themed shirt. Even if you don’t want to at first, you will inevitably fall for that. We like to dress for the occasion in my family so we usually wear matching-themed tops that we design especially for the trip. If we don’t bring one from home, we just buy from Amazon, go to Wal-Mart or a nearby outlet and buy some. Here are some examples:
The golden rule of shoes is that they must be comfortable. The parks are enormous and you may have to walk up to 10 miles a day. you have to think of it as if you were going to the gym. Believe me, you don’t want to stop walking because your feet are sore.
You can also opt for sandals, the ones that are comfortable and sporty:
In the backpack of the parks, you should always carry a coat even if it is very hot outside. The temperature change when you enter a building is huge. I recommend a light one, that you can fold and fit in your backpack.
Tech
Cameras are kind of heavy for you to carry throughout the day so unless you enjoy photography or bring them for work my biggest recommendation is a portable charger for your phone. You’re going to take a lot of photos and you’re going to be using the app a lot. I recommend one with at least 10,000 mAh, and dual USB.
Don’t wear headphones or bring laptops, enjoy the music, the atmosphere, the family, and the magic!
If you plan to make videos or want to bring a camera anyway, I recommend the following devices:
For thrill rides (especially outdoors), sports cameras are the best option, you can Opt for the GoPro:
Or for a cheaper sports camera:
If you focus on streaming for Twitch or YouTube, a compact camera may be more useful:
Extra
It will probably rain at some point during your stay. Ponchos in the park are really pricey so I recommend bringing a pack of rain ponchos from home and having one for each member of the family in your day backpack.
Here are two useful accessories if you suffer from the heat:
Cooling Towel: you just get this Tower wet and put it in your neck or wherever you feel hot and it will lower your body temperature a few degrees.
Portable fans: I usually recommend these for children, but there is an option that can be very good for when you have to stand in a long line in the sun:
You must not forget your sunscreen. I prefer the sports ones in spray format, as they are great to protect yourself every 2-3 hours without having to stop walking, and they do not make your skin feel sticky. You will find them at Walmart. And sometimes they even come in a pack of two at a lower price.
On the face we should always use a facial sunscreen. I recommend three options with different prices so that you can choose the one that suits you: one from Sephora, one from Clinique and one from Dior.
Your backpack must be as comfortable as your shoes, bear in mind that you will carry it on your back for several hours. Sports backpacks sometimes bring a special fabric for skin comfort. Pro tip: you should bring a backpack every 2 people, as you can take turns and rest your back at some point.
You can also choose a thermal backpack, in case you need to keep your drink or food hot or cold. You are allowed to access the parks with a thermal bag or container as long as it’s not rigid.
[IMPORTANTE] Don’t forget to bring a water bottle with ice in your backpack to refill in the park. Water is free in every quick-service location, so you can just ask for it.
