Remembering trips through food is one of my favorite things in life. Therefore, planning my adventures involves plenty of food investigation. I need to know where I will eat each day, what I may choose from that place and how much I will spend on that. Magic Kingdom food options and price ranges can be overwhelming. The first chapter of this guide will tell you all about Fantasyland’s food secrets. Here is a guide for you to have an idea of where to go and what you can afford depending on your budget.

Magic Kingdom: The Basics

I will share with you a visual aid with a Magic Kingdom map. This will let you know where you need to physically go if you choose a specific spot. You access the park through Main Street.

This gorgeous MK map background is by my favorite illustrator, FV Ilustraciones. She sells personalized digital products and she always makes my messy ideas come true. This map is actually on my living room wall (without the names of the lands because I already know them 😅).

For general food tips, here is a short piece that covers the basics:

Cinderella’s Royal Table

Did you know you can dine inside the castle? To be able to do this, you will need a dining reservation. This is one of the most exclusive (and famous) dining options in Magic Kingdom and even in the whole resort. If you plan on dining inside the castle, I recommend you make this your top priority reservation-wise. You should know which day you plan to attend and be ready for this Magic Kingdom Food reservation 60 days in advance. I recommend waiting for the reservations to open up first thing in the morning. These are the spots that tend to go first.

If your plan is to have dinner, remember you may not be able to enjoy the fireworks, at least not from outside. However, the fIf you plan to have dinner, remember you may not be able to enjoy the fireworks, at least not from outside. However, the fireworks show from inside the castle is also magic. If you have already seen the show, this could definitely be a magical moment for you. The lights are dimmer, the speakers play the soundtrack and you may even get a souvenir. I got a magic wand and my husband a knight’s sword, and we didn’t even have kids at that time.

The menu is prix fixe. This means you pay a fixed price per person (it varies depending on the kid-adult category) and you choose one item for every course. You will be given a choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. The beverage, if nonalcoholic, will be refilled at no extra charge.

MDT recommends: for breakfast, Caramel Apple-stuffed French Toast, and Shrimp and Grits. For lunch or dinner: Charcuterie as an appetizer, Magic Carpet Ride as an entrée and The Clock Strikes Twelve for dessert.

  • Price range: $35 (kids) to $60 (adults) per person for breakfast, over $60 per adult for lunch or dinner.
  • Format: Table service. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Reservations: ✔️

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest Restaurant is the second castle in Magic Kingdom. It is inspired by Beauty and the Beast. Even if you may walk right by it, it is so accurately themed that you will feel inside a fairy tale. It serves French cuisine and it is so tasty you will remember it for years.

If I had to choose between Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest, the latter would totally win the competition. Don’t get me wrong, I love the inside of the castle, but the overall service and menu are superior at Be Our Guest. Both lunch and dinner have a prix-fixe menu.

MDT Recommends: French Onion Soup as an appetizer. As an entrée you can choose Pan-seared Sea Scallops or Herb-salted Pork Tenderloin.

  • Price range: $62 adults, $37 kids.
  • Format: Table service. Lunch and dinner.
  • Reservations: ✔️
Dessert Trio – Be Our Guest

Cheshire Café

This is a food stand close to Mad Tea Party. You should not miss an opportunity to try the Cheshire Cat Tail (and taste it again every time you visit Magic Kingdom). It is one of the most delicious pastries I have ever tasted! Its icing is beautiful and it is just the perfect snack for mid-morning or evening. Here you can also find Joffrey’s Coffee and cold brew. This is actually one of our chosen spots in MDT for Cheap Eats in Magic Kingdom.

  • Format: Quick service stand. Snacks.

The Friar’s Nook

This food spot’s ambiance is from Robin Hood, and it offers American snacks that are completely shareable (unless you want them for lunch or dinner). This place also serves Joffrey’s Coffee, Nesquik, and Orange Juice. In its menu, you will find souvenir bowls that are super cute and inexpensive given they also include a meal ($10 to $14).

  • MDT Recommends: Sausage and Gravy Tots ($9.99) for breakfast. For lunch or dinner I would go for the Creamy Bacon Macaroni & Cheese ($17.99). Both items include the souvenir bowl. Without it, they are a bit cheaper.
  • Format: Quick service stand. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Reservations: ❌
  • Mobile Order: ✔️

Gaston’s Tavern

This bar is right after Be Our Guest restaurant. The star snack here (and I dare to say, the star snack in Magic Kingdom) is the Warm Cinnamon Roll ($6.79). It is huge, so you can share it. I personally recommend ordering LeFou’s Brew ($6.29 or $12.99 in a Souvenir Cup).

Prince Eric’s Village Market

This kind of market is in almost every land at Walt Disney World. They serve the classic snacks we all love: Giant Pretzels ($11.29) and Turkey Legs ($14.49 with chips). Here you can also buy grapes or a pickle, bottled water, and soda.

MDT Recommends: Mermaid Slushy (5.99).

  • Format: Quick service stand. Snacks.

Storybook Treats

This ice cream location also offers fountain drinks. This is your go-to spot for insta-worthy cones and sundaes. They change every few months, and they cost from $5 to $8.

  • MDT Recommends: Heigh-Ho Sundae! ($7.49), Snow White Cone ($6.49) and Seven Dwarfs Speciaty Cone (5.99).
  • Format: Ice cream location.
  • Reservations: ❌
  • Mobile Order:

Pinocchio Village Haus

This location’s theme is all about Pinocchio. It is a great resting area as it has air conditioner and tables available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Its menu offers a variety of flatbreads and breadsticks. You can also have a side of salad or tomato soup.

  • Format: Quick service location. Lunch and dinner. Tables available.
